Money

Official Russian currency is the Ruble (Rbl). There are banknotes from 5 to 5.000 rubles. They can be seen on the Bank of Russia website.

It is easy to exchange Euros or US dollars into rubles. You have to show your passport to make the transaction in the exchange points. It is not recommended to change money on the street. You might get Serbian or some other exotic old notes, not accepted anywhere in the world.

Exchange rates may vary slightly between points. Central Bank publishes currency exchange rates daily. More exchange info.
